Ta guys ;)

Athiril, did you get that "soft" effect using gaussian blur (or similar) or an on-lens filter?

gaussian blur on a separate layer with opacity turned down.

I do as much as I can in photoshop... as my lens takes 82mm threaded filters which cost about a kidney.. and they vignette... and you need the lens hood on to use them, so you cant use 12mm on full frame with them :P.

Either that or i need some diffusion gel i can cut and put in the rear filter slot.

Im going to do a few non-exposed shots on this roll of Astia 100f im using next and when it comes back, cut it up into the right size to use as a rear infrared filter ;)

Here's a few from my recnt trip to NZ

I had only just purchased the camera (an Olympus E510) and was still learning how to use it... who am I kidding, I'm still learning how to use it!

Anyways, NZ is just amazing. I don't think you can take bad piccies of the place. In saying that, these are not a patch on actually being there. It's an incredible place!

Just around the corner...

Good morning!
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f121/mozworthy/New%20Zealand/NZ7.jpg

And yeah, most of these were taken from a rocking boat, through a hotel window, or through the windscreen of a moving car. :)

I don't have that many well 1 really. I was just playing around in photoshop elements to see how it would look in blak and white. But here's something that is on the side of a highway where I grew up. Let me know what you think of it.

And I am really new to taking ummmm good pictures.

http://s330.photobucket.com/albums/l408/Dumb_computergeek/1st/?action=view&current=100_0542_e

and if anyone wants to give me some photoshop hints how to make it look better, possible try and bring out the details in the stump more, please feel free to let me know how.

That was my first real attempt at High Dynamic Range photography. I definitely need to work on it, but it was a fair first try.

The balloon shot was indeed from another balloon. I took more than 300 shots in an hour and a half... it was hard to pick the ones I liked with such spectacular scenery.
