Just played the demo on Xbox Live Arcade - seem to be pretty damn awesome, i think i'm about to purchase the full game :)
Only 800 Microsoft Points too..

Its been getting great reviews pretty much everywhere, and here's some linkage to some game details if you [somehow] don't know what the hell I'm talking about:

Anyone else played the demo or purchased the full game?
Thoughts?

Already bought it. I'm a bit stupid like that.. I buy games before I play them. I don't particularly like it. It's just feels wrong - with there being no jumping at all - although it would be Contra if that were the case.

And it's HARD!

I can't beat the first boss.

Yeah, i enjoyed the demo, but i haven't purchased it YET, mainly because i found it to be a quite difficult (the two 'training levels' or whatever they were called in particular were IMPOSSIBLE for me)

Was kinda hoping it was just me sucking ;P
I don't really enjoy games that beat you down with their difficulty...

Also, DING! - just noticed i leveled up and am now a Champion lol - that was oddly satisfying ;P

Bought it and love it!

Awesomely retro, but so fresh.

It's grouse.

Bought it the other night - it's hard, but enjoying it a lot.

So far I've completed about 6 of the missions, and about half of the challenge levels - some of those are just frustratingly difficult, though..

I don't think it's for me. I played the demo and it just feels too clunky.

Nothing wrong with old school gameplay, provided it's actually fun :/

I found it difficult to wrap my head around in the demo, but once you "get" the mechanics of it, it comes into its own.

I'm loving it. Only a few levels in, but yeah, really digging it.

The NES game was one of my all time favorite NES games.

Played the demo, thought it was good for some old-school fun.

I "acquired" it on PC, but i'll buy it for PS3 so i can play on 40 inches, rather than 19. :P

I think you'll find this pretty much exactly the same. From the brief bit of it I have played it is just a fresh paint on the nes version. I spent a lot of tiime playing the old version and it feels like an old friend. So much better than going back and actually pulling out the nes (or the C64) and being let down by a game that used to hold all your attention.

I enjoyed the demo, but will pass over the buying part of it.

Joint Strike: 1945 on the other hand, I thought that was pretty excellent, and am still contemplating whether or not it would get enough play time to warrant a purchase (Civ: Rev is stealing game time away from everything at the moment, and with the big TF2 patch this week also... argh, WTB: More time).

However, I'm waiting for the Aus PSN to get Ratchet and Clank: Booty. Eurogamer raved about this abridged R&C, and I was keen as to buy it this morning, only to not discover it on our local PSN, only the US/UK.

Which is typically lame bullshit by Sony.

I bought it and loved it. There are differences between the NES version and the new 360 one. The 2nd boss for example is almost a trick boss, in that you try 50 different ways to damage him, than realize that a single grenade thrown behind him is an instant kill lol.

The mechanic is very confusing at first, but once you get it, it's strangely addicting...
