I've just gotten in to my 360 after an almost 6 month hiatus, and the love obsession of achievement collecting has me by the balls.

My questions to you are this:
1) What games have you topped out on (if any?)
2) What are some of the easiest games to achieve big numbers in?

I've got 900/1000 on Fight Night (launch title) - cbf playing any more back when I had it - stolen so can't go back!!! and 900/1000 in Lost Odyssey (but missed some vital items in a part of the game I can't go back to - and seriously cbf throwing another 70 hrs at it). I also did pretty well in Symphony of the Night (arcade), but missed some big points because even though I cleared 200.6% of the map in Symphony mode, cbf doing the same in Richter mode.

In terms of easiest to achieve, Soul Calibur 4 has some VERY easy ones. In about 3 hours play I already had about 10 unlocked. You need 30 to unlock most of the items for purchase (some rings and things are still hidden in the Tower of Souls mode). I got 30 a few days ago, and now some of them are starting to kick my ass. I even got this damn random one where the amount of time played has to be the same as the amound of time remaining in a match. Another fun one (easy) was to get both players KO simultanously (not using 2P local). Yoshimitsu seppiku ftw :P

lol thanks :P

I'm still sitting around 6.5k, so I don't quite fall in to that category yet. The_End has well over 10k (Lego Indiana Jones - I'm going to pick that up tomorrow!!!)

Even Ug Lee who you'd think is totally pro only has just over 2k - so it's no skill indicator really.

Maybe it's why I love Pokemon so much.

I never got the appeal to be honest.

It just smacks of a cop-out way of adding more game time to a title.

That said, I'm at 3.5k, and I've only finished a very small number of games.

A workmate of mine is a big achievement whore.

I think he said TMNT is one of the easiest to get 1000 achievement points. There was another game. If I think of it I'll let you know.

I'm not an achievement whore. I play the games and if I get an achievement it's a bonus.

You've gotta admit though, a game that rewards you (ala SCIV) for gaining achievements is pretty sweet - even if it is in some vain attempt to lengthen an otherwise short game.

I have to agree, it is a way of making you replay a game a heap......and it has me too.

I dunno how people have time for this stuff.

With a job and a girl I struggle just to get enough time to play all the games I want ONCE in a normal way. I can't imagine favoring extended play in one game over another I felt like playing more just for the sake of trying to increase a number.

That said, When Uncharted is patched for trophies is when I'm gonna hit it again on the hardest difficulty, but only because I've been itching to replay it anyway.

I'm also replaying the Resistance: Fall of Man campaign at the moment (love that game), which I guess would have a little something extra if it had trophies, but at the same time I really don't give a shit. It does have it's own unlocks (basically the same as achievements), as well as unlocked extra weapons after completing it once.

There's absolutely no way I would go back and replay a game just for points though. Nor would I ever get into a game using achievements/trophies as the slightest influence. SSHD never did it for me and trophies haven't done a thing to change that.

Thanks kunzi, and hell do I know!
However, the unbelievably impossible chopper stunts were always fun. Not to mention the sheer carnage with them. Hardest part of the Game was 1 car race. Near impossible, absolute fluke I finished....on about the 400th try ;)

Only game I have bothered to fully complete the achievements was Bioshock, although I have to go back and complete the newer one they released.

EDIT: oh and I got most of the ones in Lost Oddysey but couldnt be bothered getting the ones I had missed, like Kunzie, couldn't be bothered after 70-80 hours of playing.

All other games I have done some, mainly just the ones I have found interesting. One that pissed me off was Mass Effect as I couldnt get the achievement for finishing the game with Rex and the other human guy as I saved in a spot where I couldn't turn back from, damnit.

Borrowed the Orange Box from a friend as I havent played Episode 2 or Portal yet and am finding the achievements in it fun. Particularly liked finishing Episode 1 using only one bullet - which was to blow a lock off a door.

I found the achievements in Forza 2 and GH3 to be just crappy, I have put alot of time into both and have hardly unlocked any at all, they seem boring to me.

Yeh, I found GH3 achievements to be pretty excessive. Especially for a unco like myself.

It's funny, even though I've got a stupid gamerscore (over 11k at last count) I don't really chase achievements. Most of the games I have are sort of half finished, with some piddly gamerscores. What I have done is played a hell of a lot of games. I think my 'potential' gamerscore (if I 1000 pointed everything) would be something like 40-50k :S

Games I've found that tend to cough up points generously:

CoD4
Bully
Lego Star Wars
Lego Indy
Assassin's Creed
Anything by EA

Most stingy:

Forza
EDF

Most fun achievements:

Dead Rising

Achievements are definitely helping get me back into the post completion game for GTA4. Surprisingly, whilst it's a better game whilst you still have story missions to beat, it's not as much fun to fuck around with. San Andreas was the champion for that.

Similar to xfu, I generally have time to complete things once, and that's about.

As for kunzie's questions...

1) TMNT, Cloning Clyde
2) TMNT, Cloning Clyde

:-) Due to the above limitations on time, the only games I've in which I've obtained all the achievements are the above two, of which TMNT was easiest - if you finish the game, you WILL have obtained all 1000 gamerpoints.

Cloning Clyde was a little more challenging but only inasmuch as you had to specifically go after a few of them, but none were hard.

Most of the time I'll check out the list of achievments, like on http://www.xbox360achievements.org/index.php (yes I know the game's own profile on the dashboard tells you too, but you used to have to go into each one for a description) and maybe try for ones that seem easy enough to obtain, but rarely do I have the time or inclination to go for all of them, as some are ridiculous (play 5000 online matches or whatever), especially when compared to how many gamerpoints you actually get compared to time investment required.

One I really have to go back to is Viva Pinata, as it's one of the first 2 games I got with the 360, the other of which I've since traded in, when I had absolutely no idea what achievements were (as usual I just dove in), so kept seeing achievments pop up and though 'oh cool I did something momentous' without really knowing what it was.

Definitely agree with The End there, I've played a LOT of games, but don't really chase the Achievements so much, unless they're fun ones! ;)

Also, TMNT is THE easiest 1000 Gamerscore Points I've ever gotten (took less than 6 hours i reckon)
And it's an alright bit of fun as well, sort of like a stripped down version of the recent Prince Of Persia Trilogy games (And it is by Ubisoft after all...)
