Leadtek HDTV Tuners

Hi I would like to know which one is better out of theses:

Leadtek WinFast DTV1800H for $68:
http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=56&bid=6&sid=25395

Leadtek PxDVR3200H for $90:
http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=56&bid=6&sid=31548

I've heard nothing but good things about the DTV1800H but how does it compare to the PxDVR3200H? And is it worth the extra $22? I'm also using vista x64 and its unclear whether the DTV1800H has 64 bit drivers for it.

1. go to leadteks site and read the specs. see which is better

2. go to leadteks site and see if 64bit drivers exist.

if they're both HD tuners, and they'll likely use the same bundled software, so its up to you man.

their sd tuners were pretty good quality. Personally i cant stand the default software for my avermedia tuner but it works great in vista.

Only shame is that it doesnt work in dscaler.

if you are looking at a quality unit you cant go past the hauppage HVR2200 or whatever it is called.

Main difference I think is the 3200H has a "Built-in high performance analogue TV recorder, with hardware MPEG-2 encoder. Record digital or analogue TV to disk using high quality MPEG-2!"
Also the 1800H is PCI and the 3200H is PCI-Express.
Also note the 3200H is a much longer card than the 1800H

I have the 3200H and it works fine, but I am still using XP 32 bit. Only real issue I have with it is that due to its length I cannot fit it to the top PCI-Express slot on my mobo (GA-P35-DS3R) as the back of the card fouls the end of the first ram slot.

I looked on their website and they both have x64 vista drivers.
I also checked out the Hauppage HVR-2200 but it's around $200 which is just a bit too much.
I've had a look at the specs but I'm not familiar with tuner cards so most of it doesn't make sense to me.
I really just want to watch good quality TV with it I'm not really into watching one thing while recording another but being able to record would be an added bonus.

How long is the 3200H? As I only have 1 viable PCI-E slot left and it too is in line with the ends of the RAM slots.

Most likely won't fit then jaco.
My card hit the ram slot by about 10 mm which was a bugger.
if all you want to watch is digital tv then
the WinFast PxDTV1300 T
http://www.leadtek.com/eng/tv_tuner/overview.asp?lineid=6&pronameid=432
would probably be the best bet if you can find one.
Only has an antenna input for TV and only receives Digital SD and HD
If you want a hybrid PCI-E(digital and analogue)
then I would go for the WinFast PxDTV2300 H
as it looks quite a bit shorter than the 3200 H.

However without the hardware MPEG 2 encoder you may get audio sync issues if you try and record through the Component Y/Pb/Pr(480p), S-Video or composite signal capture.
At least that was my experience with my previous Compro card.
All the cards can record what you are watching, but if you want to watch one channel while recording another you need a dual tuner solution (expensive).

Nah looked at hacking a bit of the PCB but thought it might be getting too close to one of the traces to be safe.
Besides I had an empty slot below the vid card that was not fouled by the vid card cooler.
