Microsoft breaks IE8 interoperability promise

Only part of the real world, there is another part of the real world the does not use any MS stuff.

In an ideal OSS world, we'd be running Linux with Open Office and all apps would be OSS. In the real world, all big applications (like Adobe Photoshop) are not OSS because people want to make money out of it and people are very protective of their IP. Hence, there will always be companies like Microsoft around.

...looks like you did it again, hey Waltish? There seems to be a pattern forming.

Sort of reminds me of this thread, you posted in "Windows OS" rather than the "Security" section...

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=21&t=2413

Like I said before fella, if you want to be an OSS Evangelist, you can be (I think you'd make a good one, for you are passionate) - but simply posting news about "the evils of MS" where people will see it, is not the way forward. You will earn respect through showing us the good parts of OSS.

Get out Zeb, I will post what I like... your pattern is That you think you can control what I post and also your pattern is to have goes at me the person In your effort to control what I post.
In fact all the windrones and propriortists have obvious patterns, so have a go at the article if you want, but enough with the goes at me.

PS: I don't care for your respect Zeb, its not really worth much to me anymore.
So stop it, really your drivel needs to be sorted Zeb.

PPS: Feel free to RTM any of my posts that you don't approve of.

*Edited to convey its meaning less agressively.*

He has a pretty good point actually, especially given that this was originally in the Green Room....

I think if anyone needs to have things sorted, it is where you post things, then we can work on those spaz attacks.

Now let's take a chill pill and relax.

How is Zebra, a UNIX specialist, a windrone?

No dud that's not the point at all, he has to stop having a go at me time after time.
I have been quite patent to date in the face of his attempts to censor my posting.

But enough is enough I had enough of his personalise the issue crap.

If my post breeches the FAQ he can rtm it, if he just doesn't like hearing what I have to say well that is his problem.

You want to have a petty shot about where I post, but you never pull him up on personalising the issue and not staying on topic.

Your posts don't breach the FAQ, and they are not wrong in any way.

What they are, is annoying as fuck, because it is always the same fundamentalist shit without any facts to back anything up, all based on your irrational hatred of a single software company.

No one respects what you write, because you can not evenenter into a debate about it. If someone points out a point of view from the real world, you simply call them a windrone, when that does not even make sense.

Your hypocrisy is tiring.., if you truly like and support OSS, you would not have such a problem with non GNU software..., what you truly like and only like..andprobably don't even use, is what you consider to be pure Linux software...debian or something. You called SUSE betrayers...WTF?

Would it be so hard for you to come up with a rational argument, a concise list of exactly why you think MS is the antichrist and how OSS will save us all?

You are the worst kind of troll. If you want to be taken seriously, why not actually put thought into what you post, or help out someway, instead of just badmouthing MS at every chance..it does not refelct well on you, or the community and movement you claim to support.

Why post them if no one likes them?

You always get the same people replying, frustrated with you or showing why your conclusions are wrong.

Ohhh...you'r a troll.

How did a troll become a hero?

Edit: So if I start posting why GNU/Linux is complete crap, and why your justa lindrone, and continue to give people false information, you won't need an explanation?

Well of course the windrones and the propriotists wont like it that's what your and his shit is about.

But to say no one likes it is assuming a lot.
And anyway they are not really posted to be measured for their popularity they are posted to inform or to be discussed or ignored.

Dude post what you like against Linux oh wait...

I am not against Linux or OSS in any way.

I have been using Slackware quite possibly since before you knew how to type ifconfig. I have a keen interest in the security research going on in the OSS sphere, and support community efforts like XVID or Gimp. I also know that they have failing, and work on making this better.

However, OSS solutions are not the be all and end all in every case. I use Windows Server 2008 as my windows desktop, and find it to be an excellent piece of software. Is it because I run this in conjunction with OSS that I am a windrone?

Even if that label could apply to me because I use Windows, I don't see how it can apply to Zebra.

Each of your threads seem to violate these three rules from the FAQ:

3. Trolling. Deliberately posting inflammatory comments just to upset someone or attract an aggressive response is lame and uncool. It’s pretty obvious to all concerned when someone is baiting traps just so they can score points – again, this is very much a judgement call, but trust that you will be dealt with eventually. If not by a mod in an official capacity, then surely by the community as they ignore your sorry arse.

4. Spamming. Please do not flood the site with useless content, or empty, repetitive posts. Or empty, repetitive posts. Or empty, repetitive posts. Or empty, repetitive posts.

6. Posting in the wrong section. Our forum categories are clearly worded using the popular 'English language' to help you get it right.

7. Not researching a post first. Has it been posted on Atomic already? Would Google be better? Atomicans are a helpful bunch, but they also respect those who can help themselves.

13. Don't be lazy and just post a link and expect everyone to run off and have a look. Add some info about what the link is, and, most importantly, your opinion of why the link is worthy of clickage

and

iv. If thou wishes to helpeth others, then thou shouldst know what the hecketh thou art talking about.

v. Thou shalt not make an arse of thou-self and not expecteth others to hang shit.

I really don't see why this is continually tolerated.

Well dud go back six months and pull all these kind of posts I have made and you will see there are not many at all.

Its just folks like you and him try to block the stuff you don't want to see posted.
So you attack me and try to trash the thread so it will be locked.
Really if you are going to imply or accuse me of spamming or trolling produce the evidence.

Post your evidence of my trolling and spamming here in this thread, or if you and him have succeeded in getting it locked post a new thread with the evidence of my trolling and spamming.

Produce the evidence.

The evidence is every post you have made in the last 6 months. Maybe that is not fair to say, as I have not been here that long. But every thread since early July definitly.

Not good enough... post the links to them if they are there and there are so many of them. they should be easy to find.

I wont even hold you to the every post I made untruth you spouted, just pick out the ones you think are trolling and or spamming.
Put up or shut up with your false accusations.

This very thread is a good example to start, as is the one Zebra linked to.

They both make a big issue out of something small to get a reaction(rules v and 3) without having a good knowledge of what you are talking about(rule 7 and iv). They are both in the wrong section(rule 6) and they are both links, or content simply copied and pasted from links(rules 4 and 13).

Two posts are not enough to substantiate your claim and it just your opinion that they were trolling.

They weren't particularly controversial.

Come on the search function should have found dozens of incriminating posts by now.

Any way I will do what Zeb suggested,
I will only post positive things about Linux and not negative posts about propriety system for a while.

I look forward to you and others trying to trash those threads as well.
