Good work sora, keep it up!

Ok some stuff you might like to add/edit on the X1900 range.

X1900XTs aren't slowed down XTXs, they've been tested by ATI and don't run at a required MHz speed for them to guarentee 100% stable running at XTX speeds, so they mark it as an XT. As such XTs will get to XTX speeds alright but won't OC much further. Like mine gets to around 675/785 before becoming unstable. XTX owners can exceed 700/800 speeds.

You also might want to add this awsome X1900 OCing guide link to your guide http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=gethowto&howtoID=61 it keeps it simple and goes a bit into adjusting the volts. Very worthy link to have.

Thanks for that mark84. Didn't think that XTs were pretty much XTXs but just crippled a bit :P

I'd like to add that another factor in determining whether an X1900 is XT or XTX is the RAM used.

X1900XTX's use 1.1ns (1800MHz) RAM,
X1900XT's use 1.2ns (1600MHz) RAM, but some XT's have lower binned 1.1ns RAM hence the reason people with XT's often find 1.1ns chips on their cards.

Good work on taking a gander at the specifics! One thing, the XTX is stock clocked only slightly higher than the XT (XT is 1450MHz stock, XTX is 1550MHz stock), so I'd change that bit to the XT's being able to overclock possibly as far as XTX's can overclock if they have the 1.1ns ram.

--------------

I haven't physically checked mine, but I've benchmarked 1740MHz on the RAM so far from 1450 stock, maybe 1.1ns ?:P

Hahaha, added some slight info for that.

Hmmm, it seems that you have 1.2ns RAM morgoth.

Taking 1000/1.2 = 833.333Mhz = 1666Mhz GDDR3. If it was 1.1ns, then you limit should be near 1000/1.1 = 909.091Mhz = 1818Mhz GDDR3.

1740 isn't my limit :P but only way to tell is to rip the cooler off.

Anywho, I need to pump some more voltage into the mem and see how far it goes.

Hi

New here but been around a while on other sites.
Damm good guide, but needs some additional work now.
For instance people need advising of deltas in the bios or they may push the cards too hard and end up frying em.
