second monitor not syning?

I just went out and bought 2 new samsung 22 inch monitors (226 BW), I've tested both individually and they work.

The problem comes when I plug both in (both using DVI into a 9800 GTX), only one turns on. I've tried restarting, fiddling with nvidia etc, any advice?

Before these two lcd screens I ran 2 other LCD's (a viewsonic and a benq) and they both ran fine (though one of them used VGA).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm suspecting both of them use dual DVI which is causing only one to turn on. But that's not the case when I looked on Samsung's website...

How big was the previous 2 monitors before?

It's not (so far as I can tell), if I unplug one monitor, the other will turn on when I boot, but both will not detect. I'm using the second DVI port right now, but with a VGA adapter, which is kind of annoying having paid for DVI /:

I had the same problem for a short few minutes. I have the 226BW, and I had a 19.. i then switched the 19 out and got a Sammy 2253BW. so I have 2 sammy's. going from the smaller 19 to a bigger one. the settings just went all back to Default.

When you say fiddling with nvidia etc... what you mean?

when I added my second 22. it would not work no matter what I tried. I thought that it was a bad gfx card, or DVI port. I even tried a VGA.. sadly I was just being stupid and to exited about having got a new screen to just right click. Go to Nvidia Control Panel. and then go to Set Up Multiple Displays. I've been there before, when setting up the first 2 screens i had. but when I added the new screen. it all went back to default. a quick change and Apply. and a power cycle of the screen. and it was up and going. that was a stupid mistake on my part. you might have done the same, or you already checked there, just thought I'd share what i did.

Yeah I've already tried that, it doesn't actually detect that multiple monitors are connected when I go there (both must be connected from startup to access dualview anyway)

Today I tried switching the VGA connection for the DVI connection on my second monitor but it doesn't detect yet again /:

just try it in displays manager see if it lets you extend your desktop.

It doesn't.
If both monitors are connected using DVI, the second one doesn't show in the display manager or the nvidia control panel.
