Is it just a refresh of the 8800gts? Same GPU but a bit quicker?

Cheers

Personally, I'd get 9800GTX+ over one of these.

I think the supposed 9800GTS - is now the 9800GT. The 9800GT replaces the 8800GT, 8800GTS and 8800GS I guess.

The 9800GTX+ is pretty much a 9800GTX with 55nm instead of 65nm die and higher clocks.

As far as I'm aware, from top down:
GTX280
GTX260
9800GX2
9800GTX+
9800GTX
9800GT
9600GT
9600GSO
9500GT
9400GT

if that's supposed to be a list based on performance its incorrect.

the 9800GX2 is faster than the GTX260, about equal to the GTX280.

No, but wrote out the list in order of heirarchy and forgot to move the 9800GX2 up a spot. In actual fact the lower half of that that list is not quite right either depending on which benchmark you look at.

lol, is how nvidia make money now, they took a chapter from intel and amd cpu making, the not so good core get knocked down into slower ranking. why else there are so many G92 core based video cards.

Nvidia release a whole range of cards for a particularly core, G80, G92 and G94 for example, and ATI can easily match or beat most of them with a release of just two card for its competing core the HD4000.

Nvidia name wankery is a good description!
