Has anyone tried these new 177.79 drivers.? I've heard some people getting some pretty good results with them. a freind has a 9800GTX and got about 1000k higher in Vantage after using it. but thats cuz the Physx I'm sure. I have the GTX260 and I'm still on the .41 drivers. Just wondering if I should give these a try.

The latest 177.79 drivers are running well for me, although I can extend this to the last couple of beta drivers as well. I haven't yet taken a look at the NVidia PhysX options yet though.

They're still in beta though.

Ahhh, I'm still on the 177.41 for my GTX260.

I have not changed cuz I'm having no problems. but I probably should go to the latest release with Physx included, just cuz i can and what not. even tho I don't own any games that use it.

Anyone have a recommendation on what driver I should try. or is that more a trial and error, personal preference thing?

Definetely try the newest drivers, because you are running the latest graphics hardware. The newer hardware would obviously have un-perfected drivers. If you are running something old then it's not so important, because the drivers would have been matured enough for the hardware to function optimally.

The thing is, with newer hardware, you would constantly be getting performance increases, game and application fixes, etc etc. Always have the latest drivers that you can get, because there may a problem that you are unaware of, or something that you are aware of but you are not aware that it is a problem.

I was using the 168.28 drivers with my GT up until I sold it, but if I had a GTX card, or even the 9 series cards, I would be getting the latest drivers I can as soon as I could.

Cheers Nes for the 8.8s, much appretiated, will update later tonight.

Excuse spelling, sorry, using IE6.

Edit: Actually considering the performance results of the 8.8s over the 8.7s, I might not update them, after-all.

I decided to give the .83 a try. I didn't have my CPU clocked as high as usual. I was just going to try it really quick and see how it went. But with everything on the same settings I ran 3DMark06 on the 177.41's and then on the 177.83's and I got a 240 or so point increase with the .83 driver. It's not much, but I'll take it. Hopefully it helps more in my games than anything. as I'm assuming this driver release was more for the 200 series than it was for the previous cards.. So hopefully it helps gaming.

Here's some Screenies just cuz I could. lol
Not the highest I've got, but just a try. the 177.83 Drivers
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/529/34and17783il1.jpg

Now same thing with the 177.41 Drivers.
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4371/34on17741lg8.jpg
All in all It's not all that much, but I'll take what I can get.. Plus my card after I'd go above 711 MHz core. at 720 it would clock into 2D power mode to 350, but now with this new driver release I can clock it all the way to 740 MHz Core with NO problems.. so I'm Down for that! I might need to try and beat my old Mark06 score of 17k

edit* uhh. WTF they don't work. lol

Nvidia has released there latest Driver again.

177.92 BETA Drivers. They give some Great Performance boosts of an average of 10% or more on most games. Here's the links

Seems ok. i went from .41 drivers getting 16,100 in Mark06, to the .92 drivers getting 16,650. so almost 16,700. not a bad raise. maybe I should do another 3.66 GHz run and see where I end.
