Hi,

I was after some opinions on the following computer build combination especially regarding CPU, motherboard and cooling;

Case: Thermaltake Soprano FX including all case fans
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Intel
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
Graphics: Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB (will add another and Xcrossfire later)
RAM: OCZ3X 1600 4GK PC3-12800 2GX2 Intel XMP C7
Powersupply: OCZ 850W GameXStream
HDD: (1 x Seagate CUDA EX 7200.1 3.5" 320GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA 3.0Gb s NCQ) and (1 x Seagate 500GB 7200.11 ST3500320AS)
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Ultra 120 Extre with Thermaltake 120mm Smart Case Fan II with Blue LED
Monitor: Dell 24" Ultrasharp 2408WFP
Optical: Asus Lightscribe DRW-1814BLT (will upgrade to Blu-Ray later)
OS: Windows Vista Premium Home 64-bit/OEM
Speakers: Logitech X530 5.1 Speaker
Keyboard/Mouse: Logitech Cordless Wave plus laser mouse
Bay Device: 3.5 LCD Monitor for 3 fans/CPU/System/HDD installed into 3.5" recess of power bay.

My aim was to make a top-line system with good expansion into the future. I mainly do graphic design work for print and web and also play games and watch movies on my computer.

Thanks,
dell.

Thanks dude...I did read the Forum FAQ's...i thought it was reasonable to post one more thread in another section that was worded specifically for the choice of CPU, Motherboard and cooling which is what this forum is related to.

I appreciate your monitoring of the forums but I feel I am justified in adding that one more thread...plus i am new to this forum and some positive and informative post would have been more appropriate on your part...don't we want to encourage debate and exchange of knowledge?

Yep, sorry... it's just this thing happens so many times I guess it just wore thin.

Thank You for reading the FAQ, it will help you to interact better here and enjoy the forums more. Fair enough you felt justified in starting another thread... but it's just recommended that we keep all of our different topics in the one thread.. instead of all over the place, as you can see, we have a lot of threads here.

Oh and I don't monitor the forum... the moderators do that job!

Welcome to Atomic

Nope, one build = one thread.

That's the way it is.
