I would personally prefer to have peace of mind that the back plate oriented mounting system is going to hold securely a HSF of many different weights!

Yeah I praise my TT BT VX for being easy to instal and being and absolute bomb for good cooling.

Too lazy to take the motherboard out of the case. Connectors and other things get warn out.

Thanks bud. Just ordered one =)

Nope, the Noctua comes with everything you'll need to install it.

Which is essentially a bracket that goes behind the mobo (you'll have to take the mobo out to install this), and two mounts that screw onto the heatsink itself, then the two join and hug tightly to your CPU.

The manual is pretty clear though, so it's quite straightforward.

i had a zalman cnps9700 cooler that used proper brackets break and miss my graphics card by a few mm so that kind of weight on factory clips im going to give it a miss i think, besides my true has a pretty decent mounting system although the noctua u12p from what frunj has told me has the best mounting system.

The Noctua mounts in pretty much exactly the same way as the TRUE, but they are both as effective as each other.

well got the xigmatek s983 today along with my new Arctic cooling t/turbo vga cooler. and after a bit of fiddling with those push pin screw things (a bit hard with my sausage fingers in a tight case) the cooler works great. nice and quiet and dirt cheap. the vga cooler on my 4850 runs nice too.
id definately recommend this 775 cooler.

the true is only $65 now at pccg still the best cooler imo followed very closely by the noctua u12p, sorry deejeta but xigmatek does not rank to high on my list of good coolers due to the intel push clips having to suspend something like 800grams.
