Atomic SuperPI Scores V4

I had 2 scores on different machines for 1 category and the second one was ignored.

So, I'd say no - just one score per person per category.

Actually, what we need is a wprime/SuperPi thread with non-overclocked scores - so as to give everyone an indication of what a particular hardware setup should achieve.

Non overclocked?? Where is the fun in that? :P

I can see the idea of trying to give people some point of reference as to what a stock machine can do, but I don't think you want to have a list of scores.

What your trying to show is the *average* stock result for a given CPU. To that end maybe a list of CPU's with a time against each rather than individual results for the same model CPU.

Can I suggest a seperate thread, maybe in the "Building & Troubleshooting" section. Ask for submissions, then keep an xls file hosted somwhere (so people can see the range of results if they want) but only list the average in the thread.

That sort of thread would make for interesting reading for someone wanting to buy a new CPU or upgrade their current CPU.

You can even extend it if you like to have maybe 3 or 4 standard tests based on CPU intensive processes which would allow you to build a good profile for different uses. (Although I think superpi is pretty indicitive anyway).

Food for thought.

Last night was a rather chilly one here on the NSW Central Coast, so what better to do then to bench hardware! =P

First I was having a bit of a play around with my E6400 (L624A774) but just wasn't getting the results and speed that I was after. Additionally it didn't help that SetFSB chose not to work last night (so forced to use 1333 chipset boot strap for high frequency E6400 runs). I believe another program that's used for controlling my phase change unit mucked up the registry some how (it's had issues recently), so a format is going to occur sometime soon.

Any ways, all results are done with all air cooling, this cooling was as follows:

Noctua NH-U12F CPU Cooling w/ 1x Noctua NF-S12-1200 fan
Noctua NF-S12-1200 fan over memory for active cooling
Noctua NC-U6 north bridge cooler w/ Coolink SWiF 80mm fan
OCZ BGA Copper heat sinks on side mosfets w/ Coolink SWiF 80mm fan
Asus aluminium mosfet cooler taken from an A8N-SLI to cool mosfets near I/O panel

Hardware used and results gained are as follows:

SPi 1M - E6700 (L629B326) @ 4.1GHz [Air]

Time: 00:12:343
Screen Shot: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/4626/spi1m12343s1025mhz4444ok2.jpg

SPi 32M - E6700 (L629B326) @ 3.95GHz [Air]

Time: 13:04:484
Screen Shot: http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/4294/spi32m13m04484s988mhz44bc2.jpg

System Specifications of that particular test bench:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (L629B326)
Asus P5B Deluxe rev 1.03G BIOS 0804
TEAM Xtreem PC2-8000 5-5-5-15 @ PC2-8200 4-4-4-4 for 4.1GHz run and @ PC2-7900 4-4-4-4 for 3.95GHz run
XFX FX5200 PCI
Samsung HD080HJ
Hiper Type-R 730w

I believe there is still progress to be made on the SPi 1M run as the system was forced into the 1333 chipset boot strap due to SetFSB not wanting to play nice. But until then, I'm pretty happy with my two new P.B's ^_^

Weather and time permitting, I might try and get some 3D Benchmarking done tonight or some time on the weekend.

Another tip: try running with the CPU affinity set to only one core. You might find a slightly better result.

Probably not really advisable for the 32M test.

Bump your VCore to 1.6V and frequency 344Mhz and give it a 3.1GHz run.

I'm pretty sure that RAM was fine doing 516Mhz at 2.5-4-4-8 though you may want to try lowering the divider and reducing the timings to see if that helps lower your Pi time.
