The ladybug ones look a tad out of focus as weel as a few of the water droplet ones.

I like that one. It's cool.

He who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword has obviously only been stabbed in the face with a pen.

Yeah the lady bug kept moving and it was hard to keep in it focus... the water drop ones.... well I must have taken about 100 of them trying to get a decent one.. and trying not to get the camera wet as well :P

I'm still working on it.

awwwww who's a good staffie then.

Needs some cropping and possibly some editing to try and take that (can is it) out from behind his/her head.

yeah its an old formula tin that we quite often use for ashtrays when we have guests around... the reason its on the floor was my son had been using it to dig in the garden.

The Staffy is a he :D

he's my favourite big black muscly man :P

lol and I didn't notice before, but he has eye boogers and dew drops coming from his nose :P

That is always a hazard when photographing staffies. That and trying to get an expression other than a sad face when your making them sit still.

Uh hem, back to your thread then shall we.

I remember trying to get some wasp pics and those little bastards wouldn't stop moving either. A lot of light and small aperture helped but not enough. I guess it's all luck of timing. I like what you are trying to do with the hole in the wall, you need what you are seeing through it to feel a bit more intimate and otherworldly though imo. I like the one genesis mentioned though :)

Hi Devere

Nice efforts. The trick with macro is turn off auto focus and leave it set to minimum focus distance, then move the camera, physically, back and forth until you see the object in sharp focus before firing off the frame. Most importantly, only close the aperture 2-3 stops from wide open, no more. Never close the aperture all the way down because although Depth of Field will be greater, overall sharpness will be severely reduced, due to "diffraction".

Edit: typos - damned fingers.

Yeah DEVERE I would agree 100% with the hole in the fence/wall, bring it back a tiny bit so that some of the wall is in the shot :)
