Calling all Sydneysiders with a Nikon D80 or D70!

God

I'm shooting something horrifically complex and wonderful and Atomic on Sunday. It's bullet time.

I'm crashing a car through a sheet of glass and simultaneously firing off as many still cameras as I can get in an arc around it so I can pause time and go all matrix around it.

I've rigged up an IR blaster that will set off 30 cameras arranged in an arc at the same time.

Problem is, I don't have enough cameras. I need as many D80s and D70s as I can get my hands on. So I'll love you forever if I can borrow yours on Sunday.

I've also found a way to add Canon 400D's (and possibly more canons if their wired remote is compatable) to the mix -- more info in my next post -so if you've got one available that I could borrow on Sunday, same PM deal.

Hit me back with a PM if you can help me out, as well as what lenses you have.

Thanks all!

-DAVE.

edit: more info about the shoot and camera model update

Ah, a Melbourne D80 man here, unfortunately.

Look forward to seeing the end results, though.

I'm curious. Is there any particular reason why it's just D70's/D80's that you're after? Because all of them, D40/40x/50/60/70/70s/80's, are able to be triggered by the IR remote. In case that's the selection criteria you require.

Hope you're going to make this video available online afterwards :)

the sensors will produce the most workably similar results. Although you have a point: with the ambitiousness of the project I suppose I shouldn't be picky.

So: anyone with a D40/40x/50/60/70/70s/80, please PM me with your mobile #!

edit: I've found a way to stagger time with Canon 400D's! That means proper slow motion instead of everything frozen in time! And the best part is I can integrate them into the Nikon setup if I get them all to shoot a test shot of a colour chart!

Now accepting offers for 400D's! PM me for loans and love!

-DAVE.

^Faldo^ post it on the deviantArt forums as a dA meet.

I organised a dA meet with 2 weeks notice in Syd, like 50 people turned up, at least half had dSLRs.
