Good, cheap (preferably free) video editing software.

I have some home videos that I've captured with my TV tuner, but they've been encoded as MPGs. What's the bestest, simplest program to use to edit these into one or more files?

Avid Free DV is slow...

They're likely to be MPEG-2 and not MPEG-1 too methinks..

Anyway, Virtual Dub can edit afaik

Windows Movie Maker is free, and lets you make cuts and stuff, thats probably your best bet so far...

Avidemux can do cutting too.

Otherwise these are ones ive googled i havent tried

Yeah, I'll definitely be giving Movie Maker a shot, but I'm doing my first recording right now. I'll have a crack at it tomorrow night after work, and in the meantime I'll look at the other options.

Thanx.

I've used moviemaker in the past simply because it is so easy, sounds like what you want also.

EDIT - I just added each video and then at the end said save the video and it encoded the whole thing as a single file. You may find there's a slight gap between the files but realistically should be pretty close to perfect :)
