**Challenge** Round 4 - Portraits
LordBug

Immortal

A huge thanks to ne()phyte for putting up the challenge for last month, yet another round of great shots revealed to the world :)

Now for one that you can really do anytime, anywhere. See if you can bring out the personality and the mood of the subject that you capture.

My few examples:
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i78/LordBug/Photos/HB.jpg
The gritty side of a friendly visitor (Tell me if you think it's over processed).

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i78/LordBug/Photos/Misty_BW.jpg
The unimpressed glare of my dearest little cat.

Now. Lets have some fun :)

Duration: 1 month, July 16th to August 16th

Theme: Portraits - An image in which the face and it's expression is predominant.

Rules:
1. Multiple images can be submitted, whether all at once or throughout the month.
2. Images can be of any age - Whether taken for/relating to the challenge, or taken a few years ago. Provided it follows the other rules, age matters not.
3. Images must either be your own, or by someone very close to you (eg Child, parent, partner), and duly credited.
4. Provide some information. It's nice to know little things about photos - Where, what, even a story behind the snap.
5. Please feel free to leave feedback where you can. It's nice to know that it's a good shot, or what can be done to improve it.
6. If you really want comments and criticism, follow your link with *CC*, and hopefully everyone else will give you a piece of their mind.
7. Post processing is fine, just so long as the original subject is recognisable in the image.

OK, here's my effort. Three or four years old now, minimal 'shopping, taken with a Canon EOS 20D back when it was brand new. Where is under a golden elm on my folks' farm where I grew up.

Oh, and my (late) Grandma at my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Not really a great shot - I just thought she looked really cool with her sunnies on. :)

I dare anyone to take a better photo than this.

I don't have any... just a thousand-odd images of the local birdlife.

My daughter, however, she takes photos of everything. She's 12 years old and is already displaying remarkable talent.

Here's a few that she took last year using my Fuji S5600.

Daisy, the cow.

[m]moz: Your daughter has real talent! That cow photo is excellent, and Macie and you don't look too bad either.

Thankyou neo. :)

One of my most favouritest photos ever. It was a random moment that I just knew I had to grab on camera too - we were standing in our half finished house and it was just one of those special flashes of time. The stripe in the background is where the plasterers had finished their joins :) In colour it was an ordinary photo really but black and white - wow :)

I had it enlarged and framed for Warren for his first father's day present and it hangs in his office. I love looking at it.

Neo: I love your pic of the little boy - another solemn, special moment there :)

Something a little more recent.

I know there is a pattern to my current stuff but you'll have to forgive a new father :)

Here is one of my son Oscar:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28926777@N07/2700402488/in/set-72157606359214005/

Just got the camera last week and was learning how to use the different functions. The shot was underexposed unfortunately but after converting to b&w and a bit of processing later it turned out much better.

Here is the link to the set for a few more happy snaps of him:
