taken from businessweek.com -

1. Thou shalt not abuse Flash.
2. Thou shalt not hide content.
3. Thou shalt not clutter.
4. Thou shalt not overuse glassy reflections.
5. Thou shalt not name your Web 2.0 company with an unnecessary surplus or dearth of vowels.
6. Thou shalt worship at the altar of typography.
7. Thou shalt create immersive experiences.
8. Thou shalt be social.
9. Thou shalt embrace proven technologies.
10. Thou shalt make content king.

the full article expands on each of those and fairly acurately, too, considering the tongue-in-cheek approach to the list. however, it got me thinking - can that list be added to? i initially thought it could, but after reading it through again, i'm now not so sure. what do you guys reckon?

Nice find. I think I pretty much follow those rules, except I do use glass effect for my header image/logo a lot. :P

I also found I used to do this alot.

eg:

(yes.. I designed that, Trymedia built it though, But under my very strict direction.)

But lately at work my designs have been surprisingly more like a developer would design a website.. with a clean and minimalistic approach with flat colours.

oddly enough, i used a "web 2" (i can't stand that term), reflection on a site i've just rebuilt - and it's only the second time i've ever done it. to be honest, i'm not really quite sure why i even did it in the first place, not that i was unhappy with the result, it's just not my normal approach...
