Hello,
I'm fairly new to web design, I only know the basics of HTML and a little PHP. I have been working on a little project of mine and now I want to allow my vistors to add their own comments. I have no clue how to do this, I've never created a web application or anything. So can you help, I want it fairly basic, they type their name then their comment and maybe even a CAPTCHA to stop spamming, then I want it to display their comment for everyone to see.
Hope i'm not asking for too much. Thanks

I've tried to learn PHP but I still don't really get it. I read the link that nickeak provided, I mostly understand everything pretty well. But how can I change the form to what I want? Here is an example http://www.catcancook.com/2006/01/15/awesome-banana-muffin-recipe/ I want some sort of commenting system like that or even more simple. Thanks again.

What sort of thing are you doing?
Wordpress is pretty decent and because it's a blog has commenting built in.

edit: lol just looked at the site you've linked. It uses wordpress.

Wordpress is a freely available blogging CMS which can be modified to do a lot more then just blog. I highly recommend it :)

Me too. I even installed it last night (before I read this thread!).

I also installed ScrewTurn Wiki, which is good.

My site is mainly for my flash and photoshop tutorials and some other stuff.

I have never used wordpress before, but it looks good. I've already created my whole website, the last thing I wanted to add was a commenting feature (and I was hoping I could save their input onto my own database or hosting). Hope i'm making sense, as I said this is my first time doing anything in web design, LOL. Sorry if i'm being too picky.

You can install wordpress on your own hosting, and use your own database to do it.

You can also style it fairly simply to fit in with your existing website.

Next time, figure out what you want at the beginning, then figure out how to do each part, then figure out how you're going to build it instead of doing 90% of it, then trying to do the last bit.
