WOW, WOW, WOW. Most objects render before the window even comes up...and large scene viewport manipulation is incredible...my old computer would have died even contemplating the idea.Thoroughly recomended.

I actually did some more rendering to see what the RAM was doing but my ram usage is a constant 30-40% in vista (4GB) and doesnt change much during a render. Viewport performance is incredible, really incredible....I downloaded a detailed model of a u-boat and have been spinning it around like crazy and nup, not a hint of hesitation.Incredible!!

Is this on your rig with the quaddro though? That *might* have something to do with your viewport being so nice =P

It is dave but I think the performance advantages would carry across to most late model cards. I've got the 169.96 drivers with maxstreme and powerdraft as well. This version of powerdraft must really be attuned because the improvement is definetly noticeable. I tell you it's damm nice being in awe most of the day.

here ya go dave.
jennyb is right, the workstation cards are very similar to the consumer cards these days.
to the point where with a little software tinker they are almost identical

Yeah, I know that beatshoes =P
However, the main selling point behind the ridiculous cost of the quadro's is the support, the drivers give better performance in rendering some things, and they accelerate the viewport in most 3D apps fantastically =P

My 7950GTX chugs when it hits big animated models in max 9 =P It's a little old tho.

Someone should really do that mod. Imagine two sli'd FX3700's, cheaper than the price of one. Awesome.
