Itunes = Bloatware?

Immortal

Background info, I do actually have an ipod (more then one actually), but no longer use it since getting a walkman phone which allows me to drag+drop music, and carry one less item around with me all day.

I've gotten used to using itunes, nice interface etc, but lately it seems to be getting more and more bloated. I think it used to be a 20mb install (back in the day when i got my first ipod), but the latest update I just installed is now 70mb, and I haven't actually experienced any difference in capabilities since it first came out.

So anyway for the people who do know what they are talking about, is itunes getting bloated? It doesn't seem that slow, and i haven't really had any problems. But after switching from firefox to google chrome i'm on the market for more software which will trim down the resource usage on my pc, and basically something thats a little slicker.

And can you recommend any other music management programs? I just want something thats minimalistic, I don't need many extra features, and I don't need a video player/manager.

Cheers.

Winamp.

if you want a library like Itunes does, it does have a library function.

when you install, select 'classic mode'.

iTunes is a butchered copy of musicmatch.

Try Songbird for a similar, well written program, or musicbox for a more lightweight player.

Yeh iTunes is ridiculous these days. So labour intensive too. Plus you always have apple updates bouncing around the bloody place attempting to install safari and god knows what other apple crap.

Try installing just the quicktime player...

Apple CONTINUALLY get you to try to install iTunes. You can choose to ignore it, and even have it remember that, but next version it adds it to the list again.

FUCK OFF APPLE WITH YOUR CRAP!
