bleah! Looking at some screenshots I hope they have some theme packs available. At least with FF I can make it look purdy.

As if fucking name it after Firefox internals.

Yeah, I thought that was weird, too. Wonder why on earth they did it?

The comic implies 'chrome' may a generic term developers use for the UI (p24).

We owe a great debt to many open source projects, and we're committed to continuing on their path. We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox, among others -- and in that spirit, we are making all of our code open source as well. We hope to collaborate with the entire community to help drive the web forward.

I have 8Gb of RAM. I don't need your schtinking memory optimization ;-)

I hope you know how awful Firefox is with releasing memory after closing tabs ; ) I don't care about the RAM footprint, I care about it becoming unstable after a while because of that. Which is why I'll probably play with Chrome when I get back home and have a chance to fiddle - if they do it properly, I hope Moz pulls a bunch of the code into FF to improve it.

Typical northern hippy.... they make a clean and sleek UI, and you go and make it kitsch.

Yeah I am hanging out to get my hands on it and have a play.

I love the fact that you can pull the tabs out into a separate Crome and how they are running there own memory instance.

Let hope that its as good as they make it out to be.

Onward and upward, ill be there front and centre tomorrow to test this.

i trust the google guys pretty implicitly... they want what i want, theyre altruistic and want to make things better for the sake of improving everyones life.

after reading the release notes and the comic, i think this could be the next big browser. hell, if its easy to use, i'll be putting it on my parents PC's quick smart.

You can open another FF window and drag tabs between them.

:-)

I am still trying to get of the floor from laughing at Google being altruistic.... :)

It's a war, they want to win, they want to look good, but check their share price, their bank balance, their part 10 and the number of millionaires they have created :)

Cheers

Read the comic. Sold.
If it does what it says it will then I would pay for it... not that Google has ever forced me to pay for anything yet.

He didn't actually.
