Can anyone recommend me a good program that's easy to use but will allow me to design a floor plan for a house. 3d would be good.

Can be for Mac of PC as I have both!

I've had a play with the Better Homes & Gardens Home Designer program, and find it to be quite good;

The ONLY fuel saving benefit of this product, is that the car expends less energy to accelerate, because your wallet is lighter.

You'd have mortgage the house to pay for that ...

Ikea has a inside one that does 3D and you can pick furniture as well (just fudge your dimensions to something close to their range).

There was another but I can't recall.

I have PUNCH Home design PRO, you can use it for complete house design HVAC all the way to landscape finals, easy to use and gives near professional results!

We used it for our current house build, and the results were that we didn't have to pay for an Archidick design and work.
