Was pretty easy, desolder old earbuds, solder new ones on and clip back together.

Just thought I'd share

I like the iPhone earbuds purely for the fact you can double-click the microphone and skip tracks :D

Dear Diary, a creepy giant stared at me today and I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

If you find your mic stops working on your iphone, as I did today. Get a paper clip out, straighten that fucker and have a dig in the hole, seems they fill with pocket lint which stops the mic contact.

I thought you kept your iPhone in the draw because it was a toy? :P

That was the Gen 1, but I'm thinking about doing the same to the 3G now that I have a bold.

So you can click the mic...

...always wondered why I couldn't find a button on it.

I find the standard one's always fall out of my right ear, so might give that a try the headphone's made for iPhones with a mic are prohibitively expensive.

I got some Logitech X240 speakers for $35 from Fairfield markets, the same one's are $100 at the electronic dick and $50+ at other places.

As soon as the guy said the price I said "I'll take 'em", got the sub under my bed and the speakers either side, only issue is that I've got to take the silicon cover off to dock with the charger.

I just set the timer on the phone to "iPod off" and go to sleep.

:D

I love doing that, most used feature besides the Alarm is the "put ipod to sleep" option on the timer
