Can someone with snow leopard do me a favour?

I'm chasing up the ATi kexts from snowleopard, I want to see if I can get a working Hackintosh driver for 10.5.x

I've tried all manor of ID's for my HD4870 and none of them work.

I know I could just go ahead and "acquire" a copy of snow leopard myself but I thought I might give this a shot

Yeah I was more so looking at the ATI drivers in the above. I was going to see if I could do a bit of resource hacking and possibly get a driver going for a HD4870. I may just download 10.6 and test it out anyway...

It'll probably be easier if I just get my hands on the drivers myself, and due to the legality issues I don't think this post was a good idea in the first place

Good luck bud.

Ill be trying as well in the coming weeks. Dont bother trying to put your device ID in the 2900 series drivers its a no go apparently :(

Don't count on the kexts from one kernel working on another...

Yeah no, i've done the research. There was a developer kit sent to ATi and that's where the reference comes from with regards to the HD4850 and HD4870 in 10.5.2. I tried putting the ID in the kexts and it was a no go, it just flat out rebooted and ignored it and put me straight back on to the VESA drivers.

Apparently apple and nvidia are working on GTX280 drivers for Snow Leopard from the rumors i've heard floating around. hopefully the dev drivers are also included in 10.6 for the HD4xxx series or even a later 10.5 update
