The HP Pavilion dv5-1007TX Notebook
The points I like about this are 2.5GHz 6MB Cache & the Nvidia geforce 9600GT 512mb
Check it out here link

The Toshiba Satellite A300/V01 Notebook
The points I like about this over the HP is the brand I know toshiba look after any warranty issues & the note book seems a bit more solid built.
Cannot find much on this Notebook. link

Hope you don't regret it.
I'd have gone the HP myself, but I don't like them much either.

I'm a bit of an ASUS and MSI fanboi atm.

yeah toshiba's awsome when i used to own a TECRA M(1) and it broke they replaced it with a brand new (at the time) tecra M3 it never faild and after all the damaged it sufferd from going to school it worked (until i wanted to replace the hard drive and put a magnet under the caddy)
HP is also a very good reliable brand but i prefer Toshiba.
