Hi all,

I need a laptop under $2000 to run games, internet and general office duties. I have got it down to a choice of 6.
Toshiba Satellite A300 T8100 Processor
Dell XPS M1530
Dell Vostro 1510
ASUS M51SE
HP Pavillion DV6700T
HP Pavillion DV5T (To be released in July/August I believe)

Any advice would be very grateful as I obviously don't want to make a $2000 mistake!

Links would probly help, most people these days are to lazy to type things into google then look for the right link.

But... later this week i think i'll be buying a Vostro 1510.
1. For price vs Performance, to me looks like good value
2. Even though dell can be overpriced on desktops for laptops they are quite well priced + there warranty service has not given me grief before.

Its not so much that we are lazy, it more that we feel better about helping those who help themselves.

Fair enough.

As to the OP. More details please.
How portable does the laptop have to be? Is battery life important?
What sort of games?
What screen res do you want?
Are you fine with ordering directly from the internet, do you need to see the laptop in person before buying?
Any other specific things that you require?

Help us help you.

Why not put Pioneer in that list.

ASUS M51SN - AP067G

If you need more power than that, up the budget and get its big brother.

But really, with this you can get the PC (comes with bag and basic mouse), gaming mouse and basic headphones for ~$2k

Sweet!
