Hi everyone, I have with me an LG LS50a notebook. This notebook has been with me for many years, since 2004. My problem is that the laptop's LCD hinges are quite loose. If I open the laptop's LCD to an angle, moving only slightly the thing slams shut. Quite a hazard on the fingers while holding it and moving about a bit. I have tried to open it, but I can't see any screws near the hinges. It appears the two hinges are held together like a "bolt" with no threading. Any ideas how I can tighten this? ----- :D

Hi, I have an LGLM50 which is very close to your machine if not totally compatible, in terms of the screws etc.. it sounds like you have snapped at least 1 of the hinges. After about 2 years I snapped mine too and had to replace them, myself, or else I had to send the machine away for 2 weeks. Let me tell you, it is not a job for the faint of heart!! You'll need to completely take the LCD case apart.. it is not just a matter of replacing the hinge at the bendy bit, as I had assumed until the parts arrived. lol. :-O Anyway I bought the hinges and service manual from Big Warehouse Spares, spares.bigwarehouse.com.au. (I think, it is not responding now). I recommend you buy both even if only 1 is broken, because the other is probably not far behind. Anyway PM me with your email address and I'll send you the service manual. Cheers. Quote by madrat007 Hi everyone, I have with me an LG LS50a notebook. Reminds of the wobbly hinges on my Compaq N1000C.
