No touch ups. They are as they were taken.

The camera (of course) suffers with low light.

and greasy lenses from the muck in pockets and stuff! I found cleaning my lense good and proper increased clarity

I want one as a toy.

When they are less than $700, I will buy one.

I love my TyTN II but wouldn't mind a good fiddle with an iphone.

/ahem, I can suggest some good "artistic" sites that ply their wares as MP4's to assist you with your "fiddling".

Unfortunately the rules of this site forbid the sharing of links which embody this highest form of human expression.

No NextG? Not with Telstra, so don't care =) It's an obscure band, not used anywhere but NextG and America. I'll take 2100mhz any day!

No PDF Reader? Guess what, I can install one instantly. Such is the joy [?] of an "open" OS.

LG Support... well, you know me. I make my own ROMs. So support won't tell me nuzzin' I don't know already :P

What the iPhone has above my phone:

* Higher Res Screen [although, my phone has 272k colours, and it really makes a difference, I like it for a QVGA phone :)]
* Capacitive Touch Screen [I want one. Although, even though this screen is resisitive, it's very very responsive. Much better than my TyTN 2]
* Nicer UI [Hey, I can admit that :P]
* iTunes support [? is that even a feature? Lol. Mass storage seems to work well for my purposes :)]

What my phone has that the iPhone doesn't:

* A nicer, much nicer camera. It's the same MP count, but has a really nice sensor in it. Took some brilliant shots today. Seems to be an f2.8 :)
* Truly "open" [short of Android!]
* Multi-tasks any application [V. Handy, especially with the next feature...]
* FM Radio [I know, lame :P But it's handy when I get bored of my music]
* ActiveSync [I've never had an issue with it, and it works really well] along with being able to sync with Google Calendar and Remember The Milk via third party apps

The biggest kicker for me? It's $400. Outright :)

That, and I really like the UI on it. It's nice. The lack of GAPI support is pissing me off, but the new firmware is out that fixes that. Will be cooking and flashing tomorrow ;)

iphone does almost all the bands requred for nextg and also gsm, 2100 band included.

iphone has exchange activesync and also the ability to sync up with Outlook and outlook express on a PC, so that is also a moot point.

the iphone os is a multitasking operating system.

Internal memory is a win for the iphone but its not expandable... so that might not be as good in the long run.

I debate whether the UI is better, if it is anything like the touch diamond it is not even a shell replacement but just and item that you enable/disable on the today screen. From what I can see it is just a bog standard Windows mobile UI with a couple of today items added. Have a look and disable it then see how much memory it frees up...

BUT if you want some real arguments against the iphone, then I would say the lack of java and flash support is a biggy.

EDIT --> punctuation...

Ah Ha, I see what you did thar.

I am going to get an iphone when I have enough cash to buy one outright and make an iphone / timberlands / maxwell smart shoe phone.

It will be freaking awesome.

I don't want an iPhone, because it's an iPhone. Overrated IMO.

And the N95/6 has a decent camera?

Where did I say it didn't?

No, it's not a moot point, because it doesn't not utilise every feature that this syncing should provide. It's crippled, at least it was at the release of 2.0

the iphone os is a multitasking operating system.

Until I can run a third-party application in the background, it is not a multi-tasking OS.

Internal memory is a win for the iphone but its not expandable... so that might not be as good in the long run.

I agree with that.

1. Why does it need to be a shell replacement? Today screen plugins are BETTER in my opinion.
2. I find it better, as I get all my information at a glance, along with finger friendly buttons. Perfect for what I use my phone for. It's now a moot point, I've since developed my own UI :)
3. Memory doesn't worry me as long as my phone doesn't crash. It doesn't.

BUT if you want some real arguments against the iphone, then I would say the lack of java and flash support is a biggy.

And I will even disagree with you on THIS point as well.

My phone is running Opera 9.5 with Flash Lite 3.1, so I have embedded Flash, Youtube support, etc.

Do I need it? Hell no. I don't even see it as useful to be honest. It's a mobile device, something I use to keep myself organised. I browse the web on it daily, and that's great, but Flash is just too network-heavy to be worthwhile.

If I want to watch Youtube Videos while at home, I will. It comes in handy then.

But the lack of Java and Flash support really doesn't faze me when it comes to the iPhone.

Java?

As in java games?

I've got Crash Cart Racing on my iPhone, it runs to 240Mb, let's see you code that in Java.

Not if your programmers know how to code in Objective-C

Corporate users can deploy Applications to their iPhones without the need of the Appstore.

I never claimed that the iPhone was the worst thing ever made, I just don't want it. Seems likes it's all gimmick to me. If iPhone zealots love it, go for gold man, but I am by no means an Anti-iPhone Zealot.
