I saw the n95 8gb at www.nextmobile.com.au
no issues with the phone itself, except that the site specifically mentions that it will not use the 850Mhz.....

is there something i'm missing? I thought this phone was quad band, i went to nokia's site and it says it is quad band.....nextmobile.com.au are closed so i cant ring and ask them.

this message only appears for the n95 8gb, it doesnt appear for their other models.....

does this strike you as odd?

It's a quad-band phone, in that it will use the GSM 850mhz band.

It won't however, use the 3G 850mhz band. So, no NextG, or American 3G.

Nokia don't make it for Telstra, they are too small in the scheme of things.

850 HSDPA or NextG.

Maybe there's a ZTE equivalent...

;p

The phone is quad band GSM, which doesn't matter at all in Australia as we run off of GSM 900/1800 and UMTS 850(Telstra)/900(Vodafone & Optus)/2100(Everyone).
