MBR and GPT

Hi,

Does anyone know why Microsoft went back to MBR when it used GPT before? You can't install Vista on a GPT (logical) hard drive. I imagine this could be a problem if HDDs go over the 2TB mark in the next few years.

Thanks.

I'd say they would release something to support it soon.
Doesn't Vista SP1 support EFI?

Who knows why Microsoft does anything...

$4-5 Billion should go a fair way towards it, especially if we get it from somewhere cheap like MSY.

I believe only 64 bit Business and Ultimate versions of Vista support EFI...

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

XP x64 and Vista (only Business and Ultimate?) support GPT but it looks like you can't install either to a GPT disk. I had previously thought that you could with XP x64 because of what I read but then I read something else to the contrary.
