In need of a 775pin CPU to suit my P5GDC Deluxe, on ebay i can get second hand for $50ish but i can get a new pentium dual core for $50-$100.

I would prefer new cpu but will a dualy run in my mobo?

Asus support says no, but i was hoping this list is outdated due to the mobo being so old.

Nope, that Intel 915P chipset is too old for dual-cores.
One generation out ... the 945 chipsets can support dual-cores.

However, see if you get a cheap/free/unwanted hyperthreading (HT) P4 CPU in that list.
