I Heart Nvidia.

Just have to throw this out there - having an Nvidia motherboard and graphics card makes it so easy - want to try Ethernet teaming?? - just head to the Nvidia Control panel. Want to set display configs?? same goes.

You hear so much negative publicity about Nvidia, but i just want to say - thanks, it works and works well.

This was bought about by my mate and I at a LAN -he with an AMD m/b, me with my 680i. i found it easy to set-up teaming, with his, it was very difficult to see if it was actually on.

When i started to kick arse in COD4, well, then he got real interested. I cant credit the whole thing to teaming, but i did a lot better with it installed.

That is all.

Good for you. I've never tried an nForce board, but I might in the future, depending on their next set of offerings.

Yeah, likte 1000mbit isn't enough.

Teaming is for quiche eaters.

If my nforce NIC is anything to go by, you'd get better bandwidth out of a proper hardware based NIC, like the Intel PRO offerings than you woudl out of a teamed pair of shitty nforce NICs.

The only thing we find disheartening about nVidia is not their shoddy products, because their products aren't shoddy, it's their lack of value for money.

But actually, since the major price drop, they aint too bad.

I remember the first time I heard that joke. t'was amused.

But it's not just nVidia. I haven't seen many gigE NICs that don't suck. Times could easily have changed, but I haven't seen anything that really supports this.

I also have a feeling the nforce ethernet is a soft NIC. Basically the ethernet equivilent of a winmodem.

Ghastly.

yes its very hard to click 'Network Connections from within the control panel, then you can directly interface with your teamed connection.

or right click on a connection a click 'bridge', and there you have it, simple teaming.

i've owned a nForce board before, they usually aren't good as Intel chipsets.

still good enough though.
