NOT intending to overclock, in the near future anyway, but may later on.

I've seen the OCZ for $105 & the Team Xtreem Dark for $145.

Opinions? Experiences?

Have you got exact names/specs? Or even a link?

Hell, just look them up yourself:

If they have "Micron D9xxx" then they should be very nice overclockers, especially if you get lower latency ones :)

Forget them both, Tracers are where it's at.

Nah, 2GB tracers are underperformers. Only the 2x 1GB sticks actually are decent.

Actually the Ballistix Red which is 2GB x 2 is damn fine overclockers, and actually can get as far as the 2 x 1GB Tracers.

Should've asked this first, but I had an upgrade bug & skipped it; Is this all worth it? - going from 2GB DDR667 Kingston Value RAM (which HATES being overclocked) to 4GB DDR800 of more tweakable RAM? Will I see much of a difference in say, my more current games ect?

nope. and especially nope if you're not intending to overclock

...you just have to get over the mental barrier now

*edit* it also depends on the rest of your set up.. but on the whole, its still a nope.

8800GTS
C2D E6420

My OS is 32 bit anyway (XP SP3), so I guess 4GB is overkill....if i'm able to convince myself to try overclocking RAM again, I might just go 2GB of DDR800 in future.

What motherboard are you running, if it's a gigabyte board, all you have to do is change the ram multiplier to up the ram speed. However, note that that would give next-to-nothing increase in any sort of performance. What you'd want is the ram so you can overclock your CPU further than with shitty ram, as that is where the big increases will come from.

Crap forgot the mobo - Here's my system;

Gigabyte 965P-DS3P
C2D E6420
Inno3D 8800GTS (540/800)
2GB DDR667 Kingston Value RAM

Yeah i'm hoping for RAM with at least some give, so that the CPU can also be boosted.

What i'm after primarily, is faster loading times for games & my more bloaty programs...

I noticed atomic recommend this
PC2-6400 Team Xtreem Dark
TXDD1024M800HC4DC-D / TXDD2048M800HC4DC-D
4.0-4-4-12 @ 2.0 ~ 2.2V
ProMOS 8-layer PCB

Yet it doesn't have the "Micron D9xxx" chip you speak of....are these an exception?

Micron chips are the best overclockers, but that doesn't mean that other chips aren't too. I haven't used that Team XTreem kit, but it should be very good performance :)
