What is the difference between these two sticks of memory?

Can someone please explain what the difference is between these two versions of Kingston's HyperX DDR3 memory?:

One has "XMP" the other does not. What is XMP?

Essentially info in the memory that tells the mobo what settings to run the sticks at :)

And also supposedly save OC'd settings inside the sticks themselves, so that you don't lose the settings if you have to clear the CMOS.
