cpu up to 3.2ghz ,GTS clocks at 655 and mem at 950

got a 11.5k on the basic run on 3d mark 6

still cant push temps above 55c (well thats what ntunes telling me)

cant push the GTS any futher without it crashing any tips on going futher with more stabillity

I would have thought you'd get a bit more than that.

My 9800GT on C2D E6420 gets about 9400 both stock speeds (600C, 900M, 1500 Shader).

I overclocked everything moderately and got just under 12,000 with the CPU @ 2.936, GPU 710, Mem 985 and Shaders 1625.

Weird that your card would be having trouble at those speeds, they're barely above stock.

I'd recommend trying to establish what it's limitations are, but leave the rest of the system at stock while doing it.

im using ntune and it dosnt give me any shader options

Use Rivatuner to overclock that card :)

And as Rybags has said, it's usually best to overclock one thing at once (i.e CPU, or the gpu clock, or the gpu mem - usually in that order). This way if something goes wrong, you can easily work out which part was unstable, and clock it back a bit.

Rivatuner will also let you control the fan speed, so you can give it a bit of a bump if you'd like. Another option is to get a 8/9cm fan, and cable tie it so that it blows directly into the fan on the card. It should move a lot more air through, for a smaller noise increase than turning the card's fan up.

i have the cooling sorted 2 80m fans on the side pannel right next to the gpu, there loud as hell when i ramp them up 2700rpm though :)

i have Rivatuner and looked through, but i may need to read a walk to get around it to understand it at the moment.

i have heard the some people have been able to use ATI Tool for some reason is there any truth to that?

are there any expectations on clock or mem speeds for this card.

thats the card if it helps ;)

Actually, my first comment was probably wrong - keep forgetting that the 8800GTS is actually a lower model than the GT. Stupid naming conventions.
