1.55 volts nets me 4ghz. 1.5 nets about the same speed on the new 45nm chips.

Thanks for the pic DarkSerb, its goood to get some more ideas for the loop setup. I have a Stacker 830SE so I think the ThermoChill 120.3 will have to remain outside.

I had to make custom bracket to hold my radiator, but it was worth it hehe.

The coolant is @40c ATM at idle the CPU and GPU's are both around the 45c. I guess the 4870's are keeping the loop warm.
Whats a good multiplier for the Q6600 when OCing 7,8 or 9?
Currently @ 366x9 with 1.375v
Thanks

9 times multi will be best IMO. Youll run outta FSB otherwise :P

Hi Bolter01

I also have a Q6600 with B3 stepping in a Gigabyte DS3P P965 motherboard. The motherboard is apparently 'quad optimized' and with my Q6600 I've got the following mild overclocks:

Q6600 @ 3.2GHz
CPU 400x8 = 3.2GHz
RAM 400x2 = 800MHz
CPU to RAM ratio 1:1
4-4-4-12-T2 Latency
All stock voltage = 1.28v CPU and 1.9v
idle temp 37 to 39 degrees
after some gaming, browsing and running applications 43 to 45 degrees
Crysis session: 54 to 57 degrees HOT!

Q6600 @ 3GHz
CPU 333x9 = 3GHz
RAM 333x3 = 1GHz
CPU to RAM ratio 2:3
5-5-5-5-15-T2 Latency
CPU @ 1.28v
RAM + 0.025v
idle temp 39 to 42 degrees
after some gaming, browsing and running applications 45 to 47 degrees
Crysis session: 55 to 57 degrees HOT!

I have not tired yet to get to a 500MHz overclock. Will try...

I don't run overclocks as a standard though.

Thanks Jack, yer I've got 3.2 OK CPU-Z says 1.36/1.37v (bios 1.4250)
Currently running Prime95 at +20 max above ambient on all cores.

I would like to get to 3.4Ghz
How about FSB and (G)MCH volts for a Q6600 GO? I'm +.10 FSB and .100 MCH.

My BIOS (F5) says 1.325volts for vcore and CPU-Z (latest version) says 1.280volts for vcore. It's vdroop I guess. Unless anyone else can say why?

I couldn't comment on the G0 core, I have a B3. I tired the Q6600 @ 333x9 netting 3GHz (2997MHz) with stock voltage on the vorce and mch. For the RAM through to get it to multiplier of 3x 333 for 1GH (999MHz) I selected +0.0025volts on RAM.

The 400x8 for 3.2GHz and ram at stock with 4-4-4-12 T2 latency requires no volt changes.

The room I am in is particularly small with a desk, sofa bed, carpet, a single window, another desk, one door and all my personal files. So it does heat up quite quickly. With my window open my Q6600 at idle @ 37 - 38 degrees.
