Was Fiddling around...Midnight (cool night) before bed.
Previous Stable OC Attempt in SIG

Think My Motherboard Has a FSB Crack/Ceiling @ 260mhz+
So I Keep it @ 255mhz for the 2.8Ghz Over 2.2Ghz
Pci-Ex Lane @ 100mhz Forced
Ram is DDR2-800mhz @ 667mhz for Headroom (Dunno if thats what I should have done, but done it anyway, cos the OC makes it go to 850mhz, changed timings down to 5/5/5/14 instead of 5/6/6/15
The motherboard it seems is the deciding factor here...
Wont let me go Higher, Ive thermal'd both CPU/GPU
Stock @ 32-35* Idle, 45-50* Load

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7443/76182236mk4.jpg

This Screeny Taken Directly After 3x Stable 3dMark06 Runs.
Havnt OC'd the x1950 At All.
Stock 3dMarks @ 4995
OC 3dMarks @ 5300

I Expected Better OC But Im a Noob and only know the Basics...

Any Suggestions.?
EG Lower Multi & Try something else or..?

Altho Im Pretty Happy with a DualCore 2.8, Mwoar POWER!
PS: Cant do anything with volts, Mobo is teh Ghay! <- Is that My Main Beef, No Adding of Volts to Cpu? Or Ya think Ive hit my ceiling of the motherboard (Cheap as Chips Model) Austek PK5PL

It would seem the E4500 and E4600 have a low FSB wall.

My E4600 would not go any further than 263 FSB no matter what I try.

I read something on the Interweb about these CPU's being samples from the Q6XXX series cores where the 2 cores fail out of the 4 and remaining used to create the E45/6XX CPU's hence the low FSB wall.

Got a New High
Sig...
Would Throwing in 1066Ram help at this point...to match the FSB @ 1066mhz?
My DDR2-800 is gettin kinda stressed.

I cant really tell what motherboard you have but with your ram @ 889. Im amazed.

Loosen up your timings and see if you can find a memory Multiplier in there somewhere to reduce the clocks on the DDR.

its a ASUS pk5pl (not sure which one, think the most basic)
There is no fsb/mem Divider Option and No voltage options...

Im happy so far with the results of 2.93ghz and yeah the 800Mhz ram @ 889mhz does have me worried , but when this 1066mhz ram comes into play, should be lookin hopefull...

Memory @ 800mhz is rated for 5/6/6/18
When stock, i choose 5/5/5/14
Bios Selections are
5-7
5-7
5-7
12-14 (weird)
So atm they are 889mhz @ 5/6/6/14 - Seems Stable....

Hrmm

Well I know alot of the Asus boards have Mem multipliers, just names differently (ram speed perhaps?)

Well, good overclock overall, in your sig I thought you had 667 ram @ 889. I was impressed.

Regardless of what I have tried, My CPU wont surpass 263, So I set my cpu at a stable 3.0ghz until I decide to upgrade. Works fine for Open office...

Yeah Mine locks up @ 274mhz, and yeah 667mhz @ 889mhz would be....Well there's no word for that enthusiasmn, but nah im thinking of cooling the timings off because the mobo doesnt read the 5/6/6/18 as that..instead of 5/6/6/14..But awaiting the 1066mhz crutial so its a much safer option to OC further...

Got the CPU/FSB past 3.01/270mhz Mark, Max 3.03ghz@273x11

Asus Pk5pl-VM <-- Very Bad for OC'ing, No Voltage/Ram Adjustments

Tried Lower Multi/Higher FSB but With no Ram divider its up to the Mobo...And it didnt like it...
And as of now, my Windows CpuZ says 3:5, I dont know if my Mobo will Auto change.
So back to 273x11 Good to know my Max, not that it runs 3.01 24/7.
Not the BIGGEST jump, but its something :P
Now moving to 1066MHZ in little under a month,& most likely an aftermarket cpu cooler, thinking the Huge Ultra120 type cpu cooler you all seem to love... & after i get these 2 things, an X38/X48 motherboard. should NET Better results..Keep ya posted.
