smakme lives in norway or something, i doubt you want to pay for his plane tickets over to sydney :P

I will enter if i can nominate someone who lives in Sydney to represent me or something but still get the prize for getting through to round 2.

Woo! I get my CPU (E8400) back from Intel on friday, missed all the fun though :(

might i propose an inhouse (atomic) overclocking contest? one where everyone is a winner :P

yea i would like to but...

a. i am not good with crowds of people i don't know lol
b. i live north of Brisbane so it would be a few days out of work which atm trying to save up for a newer car i cant afford to miss the hours
c. i have never been to Sydney before and would no doubt get hopelessly lost haha

however if i can enter and get another user who lives in sydney to represent me or something (but still collect the prize money) that would be cool.

Ok this will sound funny, but it shows how much i keep in touch with the family happenings. Apparently its not the funeral on the 3rd, its some sort of family celebration of the life of my cousin. Really with all due respect who celebrates lives theese days??

I dont know maybe its me but i have never heawrd of this before!!!

Farcicle.

I really don't know how else to put it.

I did my registration, read the rules and uploaded my score.
A month later I see 3 of the 4 winners are named, odd thing is, my time/score is a little better than Karls.

After seeing Lili from Gigabyte post her e-mail address, I e-mailed away asking what was wrong with my score.
I received a fast and nice reply saying she couldn't see it, so could I re-send it and asked if I was from New Zealand.

I e-mail back with my screenshot and that I was indeed from Christchurch New Zealand.

Again I got a fast and nice reply saying that yes it was a nice time/score, but....
"this competition is only for Australia"
and
"you used a Asus board...we did ask for GB MB only"

I sent a nice reply to this, but yet to receive a reply back. So I will ask here.

When I did my registration the rules were very clear on the first item.
"1. The contest will start on June 12th, 2008 and conclude on August 29th,
2008 ."
"2. The contest is opened to participants and organizations residing in
Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and Fiji only."
"3........ "

To me that seems very clear, If I live in Australia, New Zealand, Samoa or Fiji, I can enter.. Right ?

The next item "you used a Asus board...we did ask for GB MB only" that is not in the rules anywhere.
On top of that, both youngpro and dinos22 used Biostar Motherboards..Yet I can't use my Asus ?

This next comment is not meant to disrespect smakme7757, but the screenshot he posted one page back wasn't done with SPI Mod1.5, it doesn't show the checksum and is about 20sec slow for the clocks.
But if he had not had a tragedy in his family he would be in.

I feel very disappointed about all of this, I have a collosal thread going in our team lounge @ ocforums.com
Ross (winner in LA) Mark (runner up in LA) and Gautam (competitor in LA and SPI guru) have all done soo much to help me get the very best score I could with my hardware, to find all that work was for nothing.

As I was quietly confident, I even picked up a EP45T and Gigabyte 9600GT to familarize myself with, so I could be as competitive as possible. Some what annoyed to have wasted all that LN2 and benching time testing for this competition, and seeing my hwbot ranking drop for nothing.

C'est la vie.

That doesn't sound quite right there Deanzo....seems you've been shafted by Gigabyte for some reason or another? Hope the Gigabyte folks reconsider...

Congrats to all who made it into the competition, best of luck to you folks.

well if you used ln2 then those spots have already been filled (extreme cooling) i also support your point for being really pissed off that you just got shunted out because of a rule that was not even a rule to begin with.

For Round 1.
I tested 3 motherboards on both Air and Ln2.

After looking at those results, I picked the combo I thought would be the most competitive.

In this case, I picked the P5Q3 with Air Cooling as being my most competitive.

Deanzo, Im apologize for the confusion and mistake that was shown on the website. This event was intended for Australia resident only that however our webmaster failed to remove the wording on it.

I sincerely apologize making this mistake and hope you understand.
I could have accept your score using other branded motherboard, but due to our budget there is no way that I can afford your flight ticket.
