Yup, not permanently, but I did increase the clocks on my system without giving it more voltage, just forgot to. Refused to post, so I had to pull out both the video cards, reset CMOS, plug them back in and try again. Much effort :/ ----- Minister of Technology Quote by David Hollingworth TheFrunj: The man in the hat is right.

Even if you're a very experienced PC enthusiast, there is always something you miss or forget to set when overclocking, or building etc... Ironic! yes! but if you disagree then you've never tried anything new to make any mistakes. But no i haven't bricked a system yet by overclocking. ----- |Q9450@3.6GHZ|T.ULTRA120|2GB DOMINATOR DDR3|XFX 790I|WD 150GB RAPTOR X OS|WD 1TB|XFX 9800GX2 3D06:17.5K|ASUS DRW-2014L1T|CORSAIR 620HX|24" DELL 2408WFP|CM STACKER 831|DINOVO|Z-5500|X-FI FATIL1TY|

Never blown anything, had a couple of dead boots but nothing was damaged from them... i think the worst i've done is clocked a 9800XT to the point of artefacting permanently, still works though -----

LOL nope Xeon for me. Better o'c quality in Xeon chips. Hahahaha! Wouldn't mind a Q6700 Xeon equivalent chip, but not a Q6600. But 45nm I love. Yep, but I did this one purely for fun (who doesn't). My best mate and myself grabbed 2 second hand pc's for $50 each (both exactly the same, with unlocked multipliers). The cpu's ran at 1.1ghz when we started, we threw in identical ram and hdds that we picked up for free at garage sales, and spent two weeks increasing the fsb and the multiplier until we got them both to 2.23Ghz (15 x 149mhz). From here they would run stable for about 5 hours before the heat would shut down the system. But we wanted more. At 15 x 166mhz we got to 2.49GHz, I heard a high pitched whining noise in the PSU, so I dropped back to 160mhz. Didn't POST. Dropped the bus 11 x 100mhz (1.1ghz) - still wouldn't POST. I had succesfully fried the cpu and power supply. My mate won, so he got a prize - he won my now usless system. He salvaged the ram and hardrive, adding them to his system, which now runs at a stable 13 x 150 (1.95ghz). Funny how things work out... -----

I overclocked one of my school's computers (no I didn't have permission) and didn't blow it up. I tweeked the RAM, nothing else. But the performance increase was huge. From 400MHz to 660MHz I think... ----- Trust no one. Least of all yourself...
