Dual Screen - how does it work?

I have a Dell 2408 (24Inch) and a LG LCD 19inch
I have connected both to the 1 (one)Nvidia Graphics card via the DVI for Dell and analog for the LG. I have gone into the Nvidia control panel and "installed" the LG. Both are now live however they display exactly the same information on both screens. How do I get to see different information on the second screen?? what am I doing wrong.?

Within the control panel there is the option to select the screen resolution for each monitor however any changed made to one monitor also changes the other monitor, which doesnt make a lot of sense. Do I need another Graphics Card??

I am doing some video editing and have the ability within the software (Sony Vegas Pro 8)to display video on the second screen and would like to take advantage of that.

I assume you need to switch it to dual view, not mirrored mode.
Go into your nVidia panel and select dual view from the multiple monitor configuration screen.

Thanks for your response but I only have the option of single screen and clone, there is no dual view option :-(

Problem solved thanks guys. What the system doesnt tell you is that once you attached the second screen you gotta reboot. Makes a big difference to the setup options.
Thanks for your input

You shouldn't have to reboot, but glad it worked =P
