Remove ASUS Monitor "Out of Range" Message?

I've got my PS3 hooked up to my ASUS MW221U using a HDMI-DVI cable. I have no issues running the console at 720p, but I've just bought some PlayStation games from the PSN Store and I'm having some issues. I think the problem is that the games are set to run at 576i @ 50Hz as we are in a PAL region.

The problem I have is that although the games display perfectly fine to my eye, the monitor puts a big "Out of Range" box in the middle of the screen (my guess is due to the 50Hz), obstructing my view.

I've done some searching and there doesn't appear to be anything I can do on the PS3 end to correct the issue - so I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to override the message so it's not sitting there blocking the middle of the screen. Hitting all the buttons at the bottom of the screen appears to do nothing thus far.

Cheers.

Not 100% sure if this will work, but change the modes your PS3 will output to only 720p and up. That might work.

Yeah I thought of that - you don't seem to be able to remove 576i, though.

Could you possibly confirm that for me?

Hrm.
There's no 576i available :S
Which games from the PSN store?
I've got a 24" so I've set 480p (it's not unselectable) and 1080p to output, and have my monitor set to do 1:1.
I haven't had any issues yet, perhaps it tries to upscale to 1080p? or something weird like that?

I think yours would say 480p as you bought an NTSC PS3, correct?

I bought Crash Bandicoot, Medievil and Mortal Kombat II. Crash Bandicoot and Medievil have the issue, MK II is perfectly fine.

It's definetly not 1080p as my screen flickers when it goes into 1080p but there is no Out of Range message. 1080i works fine, 720p works fine, and when I test 576i in the Display Settings on the PS3 I get the Out of Range message.

I'll try to find the manual for the monitor and see if there is some kind of override using the OSD control buttons on the monitor.

EDIT: I've tried moving the OSD position but the Out of Range message still comes out right in the middle.

Also, what would "DDCCI" be in the OSD settings?

EDIT 2: I have it working, hooray. Enabled 1080i, enabled upscaling in Game Settings and it is no longer Out of Range!

I didn't realise there were upscaling settings under Game Settings. Thanks for the tip. :)
