Nope, it's essentially the 2407 with lower brightness and different base yet at a higher cost. I wouldn't dream of getting the 2407 in the first place, let alone this piece of crap =P~

The 2408 is nice though. Not as good as the BenQ FP241 (edit: there might even be an updated model, it was a while ago I looked at them) though, but close.

from memory the dell screens are rebranded samsung ones are they not? if so i would go a samsung 245t for $800 (same screen as dell 2408), given they have the only zero dead pixel warranty in oz. i think you sacrifice a few input options, but its seems a worthy tradeoff.

Viewsonic have a 30 day 0 dead pixel, good enough for me.

Can't exactly say i've heard favourable comments about dell replacing screens with dead pixels. They refused to replace mine until i asked for a refund under their 100% satisfaction policy. Only then did they replace the 2707 by having me first sign a form saying i would not be able to have any future defects replaced unless they fall above the 'industry standard' for dead pixels (3?)

Edit:

Also samsung is 0 dead pixels for 19-24" monitors
