We need a thread with atomic audio setups. There are so many people here who love audio and pour their hearts and souls into planning them, researching them, setting them up and tweaking them.

So here's a place where you can release everything you've got, and look at everything everyone else has got!

Rules!
1) Must post a picture. Preferable to include all speakers and equipment involved. Post more than one picture if you like!

2) Tell us what everything is called. Share how much you spent and where you got 'em from if you wish.

And optionally, tell us anything else. The effort you go through to create your music libraries, sources of cover art, preferred CD-rippers, encoders and other software tools, what websites you find are useful sources of information, just spill!

I'll start! Any posts with audio setups, I'll endeavour to add to this OP.

Setup
Energy C-500 Tower speakers in black ash.

Marantz PM-4001 in brushed black aluminium (love how the volume knob on the amp turns when I change the volume with the remote =D ) Was bought along with the speakers for $1650 from Miranda Hi-Fi in Canberra City.

HTPC in Silverstone Sugo SG01 Evolution Case, brushed black aluminium. Audio currently through a Headroom total bithead USB soundcard. Software is Mediaportal running the Monochrome skin in Windows XP.

Other stuff!
Primary source of CD cover art for the HTPC is CDUniverse for western CDs and http://wiki.theppn.org/Main_Page for asian CDs. Audio is ripped with DBPoweramp to FLAC on another PC which also stores everything. Music that I download which is poorly tagged, I sort out using Mediamonkey.

I quite enjoy researching and drooling over equipment over on stereophile, akihabara news and anythingbutipod.

I'm currently pondering whether to replace the bithead with an ASUS Xonar D2X, Auzen Prelude, a COEM Audio Pro.DAC or m-Audio Audiophile card.

Speakers are Lenehan ML1 stand mounts, a very neutral sounding pair of speakers.

Stands are constructed of quarter inch plate metal, very heavy and still need to fill the post.

DVD for audio disk spinning is an entry level Denon (DVD-1710) utilising Burr Brown DAC chips.

Amplifier is a Sansui AU-555 from 1973, 25w rms per channel, has had most of the capacitors replaced to bring it back to original high quality sound of the unit.

Cables & Interconnects are both of the silver plated copper wire type.

Here are some older shots of my setup.
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii270/komuso/front.jpg
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii270/komuso/rear.jpg

I now use a Mackie HR626 for the centre and a custom sub on a 400W Jands amp. Rears for 5.1 are B+W speakers on a NAD amp through Marantz eq, all running off an RME Fireface 400. Panasonic projector sitting on the right speaker. For work I watch the lcd and run the Mackies as front, but for entertainment I project onto the rear wall, shift the surround speakers, and reverse the 5.1 setup so the rears become a front stereo pair with the centre sent to both channels. Not really enough room to bother with setting up another centre.

Jamo E680's. big fuck off dual 8" woofers. stupidly loud
Jamo E6.Cen. matching centre
Jamo Sub200. Small downfiring sub. decent for my tiny ass room
Dali Concept 1. for my rears
Pioneer VSX917. Amp
Toshiba HD-XE1/Yamaha CDX-596. cd players
Xbox 360 and PS3(which has just been added)

all up cost me about $2500 (not including tv). hurray for staff discounts.

Amp is being swapped out with this sometime this week:
http://www.qualifi.com.au/index.jsp?referrer=1043&section=brands&page=product_detail&

Will be replacing the speakers with these: http://www.orpheusaudio.com.au/index.php?d=products&p=aurora-2-3 (aurora 3's and matchin centre) in the next month or two.

and my disc spinning duties will be replaced by this:
http://www.qualifi.com.au/index.jsp?referrer=1050&section=brands&page=product_detail&

and sub will most likely be:
http://www.krix.com/Product/Detail.aspx?p=44&id=10

everything in black, apart from the speakers which will be a sexy ass jarrah finish. the orpheus are far and way the most engaging, realistic, natural sounding speaker i have auditioned. when listening to music, it sounds like im smack bang in the middle of a mosh pit. THATS what i want in a speaker. i never thought a 2.5 way dual 6" drive config could play so deep too. magic.

upgrade is gonna cost about $7K, should be completed in about 2-3 months. will add photos as i get toys.

Very nice Mr Hung-Su :)

This needs to be a sticky :D

I have shaped my system down to just speakers DVD and amp as I was having issues with Wow and Flutter with my deck :(

But here it is before I removed the turntable...

Thanks a heap guys! Glad to hear noone telling me to get a bigger monitor <.<

Ah, I still have to spend a bit of money on good speaker wire. xD

Good to see a fan of old hardware! I would be using my parents old marantz audio system from the early 80s but they gave it to a friend some time ago because they thought it was broken (the speakers only needed the surrounds replaced =/)

Don't spend too much on speaker wire, you only influence the tonal character of the sound slightly from my limited experience, using Cardas interconnects that my friend has gave me a bit of a warmer sound, I must say that i did prefer the Cardas over what I have.

It is a good little tweak to fine tune to what you prefer :)

The speaker wire I have is only $10 per meter from soundlabs, I just added some connectors from Jay Car to two 2 meter lengths.

Shoulda clarified a bit =) ...Priority number one is still a new soundcard, after which I will need a decent set of shielded RCA cables. The speaker interconnects are $7/m thick copper stuff, not amazing but functional. The RCAs are some no name jobbies from DSE, they work, but I'm concerned that they might be picking up a bit of interference.

They are good drivers and will work well together with the right crossovers.

Very cool :)

What sound card are you going for Kung Fu Hung-Su ?

im using some jaycar cross overs, but removing the old one and putting in a new one will be a simple excersise as the holes for the drivers are quite big.

Like I said, I'm deciding between an ASUS Xonar D2X, Auzen Prelude, a COEM Audio Pro.DAC or m-Audio Audiophile card. All will probably sound amazing, I just have to pick one i suppose xD

Ooo...Aurora 3's very nice BFM :)

I listened to some of what Orpheus had on offer at Reg Mills over a year ago and was impressed with them. Australia has some nice speakers designers/makers.

New stand? tell me about it, I am using an old chair with the back removed o_O I had better do something too :)
