Increasing the speed of lectures

My damn lecturer talks too slowly in these MP3. Is there any software (Audacity?) which would let me speed them up a little while keeping tone mostly the same?

Is it possible to get reasonable time saving out of this?

[edit]: I asked too soon. In Audacity, Effects -> Tempo. Can save myself a bit of time.

Rob.

And if it doesn't already do it, you can look for pitch shifting/correction which will help you avoid listening to Chipmunks 101.

"Change Speed" affects pitch, "Change Tempo" doesn't, which is awesome :P

dont know if Audacity has it, but judicious use of "Delete Silence" processing can be a great help too.

The ONLY fuel saving benefit of this product, is that the car expends less energy to accelerate, because your wallet is lighter.

The suggestion was to use Delete Silence , not Delete Everything ...
