Fark... So you paid $2400 for a pair of book shelf speakers?

My gawd, I thought my $600 or whatever Tannoys were expensive enough...

But Tannoy do make excellent speakers, I was eyeing off some Tannoys a short while ago..

Regardless, these ML1's are so much better than my old floor standers that you would pay $1500 today for something equivalent to them.

By the way, mine are the basic version, the level 2 Signature version are I think $3700 with all the real nice gear inside :)

I'll upgrade mine to closer to the Signature version down the track.

You can pay a lot more for a pair of stand mount speakers.

I mostly listen to music along the lines of ... Sade ... so I'm not missing out much regarding the very low frequencies :)

Sade - Lovers Rock demands to be listened to by a ridiculously overpowered amp and enormous subs!

I half agree with you in that it is nice played up loud ;)
I'm loving it without the inclusion of a sub, and I'm not sure how an overpowered amp would help :P

But I get your drift I think :)

Had a valve amp last year yogs' :)

Was only a cheap Chinese job using EL84's, but still sounded sweet, next one will maybe be based on the KT88's if I can git my hands on some very good output trannies :D

Horns I must admit I have considered, but for the moment I'm in love with these speakers, lovely mid range and imaging :)
