Betzie You're using a very old build now.
Wait until RC1 is released to the public then try that build. There have been a lot of improvements - specially in recent builds like build 5472.5. -----

I ran the beta, but I see no point in upgrading to it now or in the future. The only thing i can see windows Vista being better for me is wireless support, as XP SP2 is a hack really and has some issues.
That's my 2c -----

So I guess you're not a gamer? Fair enough.
I really like the way wireless networking is implemented in Vista - specially in post beta 2 builds of Vista.
I think you may want to give Vista another chance when RC1 is released - you may be pleasantly surprised. -----

Nah, the build we got at uni was the RC1 build, Build 5472.5 I think.
Hopefully, the public will get a taste with RC1 soon =) -----

sora3 5472.5 is not yet an RC1 build, its just a post beta 2 build (which is why on the desktop it says "Beta 2".
RC1 is due at the end of August, all going well. -----

Seems from the news I have. Case of 'Believe it or not' - I can't provide sources. Sorry. But...
Windows Vista will ship to OEM's and Corporate Customers in November. No more delays for Windows Vista!
However... {There is always a 'however'} The retail version of Vista will be available in January - not earlier. Simply, it takes a long time to print enough boxes! :-) -----

Saw these two very interesting posts on /. that pointed to two APC blogs posts.
First is an interview with a MS tech that describes how "the install DVD is actually a preinstalled copy of Windows that simply gets decompressed onto your PC" and is hardware agnostic:

Actually it seems that Microsoft has released a new build of Windows Vista for Technology Adoption Partners and OEM's - Build 5483. This is the first build to be tagged as "RC1".
