Workstation locking.

1. Can XP home be 'locked'?

2. If so, can a lock password be set, without requiring one at startup\logon?

3. Does everything continue to function behind a locked workstation? eg. my recording server, FTP server, web server etc.

I want to do this because im providing an insecure VNC logon for my home made server, and as such, if someone manages to get into the VNC client, i'd like them to be met with a locked screen rather than my desktop.

If I have a witty signature, will it make people love me?

thank you :D

i thought this was the case, just wanted ot be reassured, been a while since ive had to have 'secure' pc's lol.

number 2 was the one that was bugging me, thanks for answering that :D

EDIT: ah, now issue number TWO!

When LOCKED TightVNC wont allow connections. this is annoying, whats the point of 'lock at last logoff' if it wont let me log back in!

and solved
TightVNC must be run as a system service for it to be accessible to a locked workstation. WIN!

The ONLY fuel saving benefit of this product, is that the car expends less energy to accelerate, because your wallet is lighter.

Also set the screen saver to lock Windows if you use a screen saver.
