A few people here have Hackintoshes (aka Mac OS X running on normal PC hardware). It's not actually a very legal solution.

The shell as I understand it on OS X is simply bash, which you could get with cygwin. What you would need is OS X binary executable files, which will only run under OSX, so you need more than just a shell.

It would need to be more than a shell.

Windows with Mac make-up is still Windows.

That's illegal, unless it's Leopard Server running on a Leopard host ;)

An OS X shell for XP wont really do anything other than make XP look OS X-ey.

It isn't illegal, this has been covered in at least 2 other threads extensively.

An EULA is not a contract, and is not enforceable. If you paid for it, you can run it on what you like, including a virtual machine.

What makes you think that a EULA isn't a contract?

krovikan, you don't have Mac-using or Hackintosh-using friend to see if it does work or not?
