Are there any (legitimate) means of obtaining a Vista x64 DVDs without supplying a serial number?

Quick and easy question :P

I have the (legit) serial number, just need the media. I take it there aren't many options available to me?

Legally, so long as you have a legitimate license to use the software - does the origin of the installation media for said software really matter?

I'm not 100% sure on that, hence why I'm asking.

[edit]: Gone, because asking for piracy is bad :P

I'm fairly sure it is illegal to distribute burnt copies of the media, even if all parties have their own legitimate licenses.

OK hypothetical time.

I have a legit copy of Vista Ultimate x64.
You also have one, but your kid/cat/goldfish decides the shiny frisbee needs a scratchin'.

If I were to burn a copy of my legitimately obtained Vista DVD for you to use with your valid legitimately obtained license key, I'd be breaking the law, or breaking the terms of the license, or both?

Probably illegal, but your intentions are not shady, so fuck it.

Ask your uncle torrence, or borrow a friends copy.

Yeah if you have a legit serial, I'd ask unkle torrence for one (because you'll get it now) and then call ms and see what there replacement policy is. A friend just had his Xbox360 scratch the crap out of his halo disk, and MS replaced it in about a week.

Uncle torrence is getting me an MSDN disc, same as a regular retail one, but downloading it is no worries for me as my serials are MSDN as well.

You should just be able o email MS and tell them you lost the disc, and they will send you a new one for a fee of something of the range of $25.

You can request replacement media from Microsoft.

Who will charge a fee for doing so. However it's a not a massive cost (usually the cost of shipping).
