Thanks for the list The_Hawk.

I just finished setting up a Vista system for my Dad.
I consulted your list a couple of times to confirm the software worked on Vista before I tried to install it.

Thanks. It came in very handy. And I'm sure I'll refer back to it again in the near future.

Zone Alarm Security suite and Zaperski AV are not quite compatible, introducing a nasty error where file transfers of more than 16384 files will produce an out of memory error and screw Windows up royally ntil its rebooted.

Turns out this is a Windows bug, memory leak in the shell. Patch available from MS.

Colin Mcrae Rally: Dirt (Vista 64-Bit Ultimate). Should work with 1.21 patch. If you get a protection CD key prompt, get around this by removing the N-Vidia Network Manager software from the Control Panel(Normally installs with Motherboard Chipset Drivers). Also during install of both Dirt and patch, you must make sure to 'permit' registry changes from the Windows Defender icon at the bottom right of the screen.

And yes, it took approx 90 screenshots with Codemasters/Starforce tech people to sort this out... Anyway, it works now, thanks to me!

All of my Source games(Half-Life 2 and that) AND Steam work flawlessly. Bloodshed dev c++ screws up when compiling. Can someone confirm this on your Vista as well? I'm running Home Premium 32-Bit.
